About the charity: Barnstondale Centre is a charitable organisation based in Wirral and situated in a semi-rural location covering 15 acres. The Centre provides accommodation in purpose-built log cabins. It has a strong reputation for providing a range of outdoor activities including abseiling, archery and forest skills for schools and youth groups of all abilities. Barnstondale is passionate about encouraging young people to have fun and adventures in the outdoors, teaching them life skills and enhancing their self-esteem.

About the role of Centre Director

Barnstondale is entering a phase of new development and is looking to recruit an outstanding leader who will be tasked with operational management, strategy and business development. The post holder will be responsible for the development of Barnstondale’s strategy and external relationships to drive the charity’s mission.

With a strong commitment to working co-productively with existing staff, Trustees and current supporters, the post holder will identify what is already working well, what could be improved and how to implement and evaluate these improvements. This role will be key in developing a strategy for the training and development of Centre staff so as to best meet the needs of clients.

Who are we looking for?

Due to the multi-faceted nature of this post, you may bring experience from a comparable role, or you could be a specialist in business development or operational management, seeking an opportunity to further develop your career in a senior management post within the hugely rewarding charitable sector.

It is essential that you are an experienced people manager with exceptional communication, networking and problem-solving skills.
