Full Description

CREATE Paisley was formed over 10 years ago to meet the needs of local young people and with a vision of seeing young people transformed through creativity, community, confidence and finding their voice.

These 4 values – creativity, community, confidence and voice – shape the charity’s work, vision and goals. CREATE aims to see the following:

  1. Young people develop creative skills
  2. Young people have access to creative & cultural opportunities
  3. Young people increase in confidence & wellbeing
  4. Young people are more resilient & optimistic for the future
  5. Young people develop friendships & supportive relationships
  6. Young people are more meaningfully engaged in their community
  7. Young people find it easier to express themselves
  8. Young people’s voices are heard and acted on

This is done through a rich and diverse creative and performing arts agenda including open mic nights, song-writing, a visual arts programme, co-production and much more. The charity puts its values firmly at the root of everything it does. These values are derived from a Christian worldview that is rooted in the understanding of who God is. The charity is, however, non-denominational with no requirement on staff or participants to be Christian.

CREATE have helped hundreds of young people already and aspire to help many, many more by increasing their offering and expanding their services beyond their current geographic area. In order to do this, they need the support of a fantastic Fundraising and Marketing Manager who can increase income and awareness of the charity. This person will also be part of the Senior Management Team so there is the opportunity to shape the future of the organisation, including the programmes on offer.

You will need to have significant fundraising experience across a number of different income streams but with a particular expertise in grants and trusts. The Board is keen to develop a major donor and corporate partnerships programme so, while it is not essential you have experience in this area, you will need a working knowledge and have the ability to deliver in these income streams. You will need to be strategic as well as operation, seeing and seizing opportunities to grow the charity’s influence and income. It is critical that you have a deep passion for and commitment to social justice, community development and empowering young people to achieve their full potential.

You do not necessarily need to come from the arts and culture sector but you will be deeply embedded with the young people and in the music and arts programmes. Many of the staff are musical and take part in the performances. This opportunity is also open to you.

If this sounds like your dream job and you have the drive, determination and passion to help this wonderful organisation get the next level, and beyond, then please ask us for more information about this role.
