Full Description

Each year, Helm supports over 200 young people in and around Dundee who are experiencing barriers to employment. It endeavours to ensure that every one of them has the opportunity make the most of their life. Moving into its 40th year, this wonderful charity continues to work with young people from the age of 15 upwards, empowering them to dare to dream, and make their hopes and ambitions a reality by building their skills, confidence, and experience.

Helm works tirelessly to enable students with no experience or qualifications, a lack of confidence, learning support needs or caring responsibilities, to help them develop the skills and confidence to make positive and lasting life choices.

By giving young people a voice and having a positive impact on their future, Helm ensures that all its students have access to support so they have the best possible chance to make the most of their time, including housing, health, relationships, emotional issues, and specific learning support. Helm understands the barriers to learning and employment that young people face and strives to combat this by creating opportunities that otherwise would not have been available to them, such as a wide range of sports, cooking, digital and creative activities combined with life skills and core skills support. The result is that an incredible 70% of Helm students move on to paid employment, apprenticeships or college. Over the next 12 months in the role of Fundraising Manager, you will play an integral role in implementing all aspects of the fundraising strategy that will expand income generation for the organisation in its 40th anniversary year. Within this, you will coordinate and oversee two expert fundraising consultants who are in place for Trusts and Foundations and planning the 40th anniversary campaign. Your job is to support them and deliver on the strategy.

The Fundraising Manager will be expected to project manage effectively while developing relationships with colleagues and other key stakeholders. You will need to be a strong communicator who can inspire others. You will have experience of supporting a successful team and have a positive attitude and flexible approach. Target driven and motivated, the Fundraising Manager will enjoy the challenge of income goals and be able to work well managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

This is an incredible opportunity for a driven, proactive all-round individual, who is seeking the opportunity to step into a Fundraising Manager role. You will have a commitment to Helm’s ethos and values, and will be joining a supportive, friendly organisation to help continue its inspiring work of enabling young people to move towards a brighter future.
