Full Description

St Vincent’s Hospice serves the communities of Renfrewshire and surrounding areas, providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care to those living with life-limiting illnesses. A place of care and compassion, this is the little hospice with a big heart that provides the highest standard of person-centred care and ensures choice, dignity, and an enhanced quality of life.

St Vincent’s Hospice has a comprehensive service offering that includes an eight bed in-patient unit with overnight accommodation for family members, a day hospice and an outreach offering that connects directly with patients in the community. Striving to be best in class with a robust service offering, St. Vincent’s Hospice is also one of the few places to offer a dedicated bereavement support service specifically tailored toward helping children.

Following a period of change during 2020, the hospice is now in a position of financial stability. There is a new Chief Executive and the staffing structure was recently restructured. The next phase of their development is focused on delivering the highest standards of person-centred patient care to people at the end of their lives, and support to their families. A commitment to continuously improving choice and quality within the services runs through the hospice and they want to become the employer of choice in the area.

Fundraising is the lifeblood of many Scottish charities and this is the case for St Vincent’s Hospice. The income generated through fundraising streams supports the delivery of their charitable mission and enables the hospice to provide its vital care services. The new Director of Fundraising and Supporter Relations will generate the income required for the hospice to deliver its vital services. This post will drive the growth and development of relationships between the hospice, supporters and prospective supporters. Income must be grown through multiple streams including corporate, legacies and individual giving.

To be considered for this post, experience as a Fundraising Director is not required but the management of teams and experience in multi-stream fundraising is essential. You will provide leadership to the fundraising team as well as those in the trading team who run the St Vincent’s Hospice shops. You must have a passion for what the hospice does, ambition to take on this critical role and drive to deliver success across fundraising.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established fundraising leader or a senior fundraiser who is ready to take on a leadership post and drive fundraising success for a wonderful cause.
